FALL 2020 Freshmen Housing Assignments:  Assignments are posted on the last page of this portal.  If you do not have an assignment, please check back.  We will update assignments daily.  

FALL 2020 Upperclassmen Housing Assignments: Assignments have been delayed until we learn which classes, if any, will be offered on campus.

Current students: We are no longer accepting applications. Students who applied after May 8th are not eligible for the fall 2020 housing lottery.  Please view the FAQs at https://morehouse.edu/coronavirus-updates/faqs---fall-2020-reopening/faqs-facilities.html

New Students: Weekly updates will be made to provide access as students are cleared to apply for housing.  An email will be sent if you are cleared to apply.

Students who submit a housing application after the deadline will not be guaranteed on-campus housing.  The housing application will remain open until all rooms are filled.*

June 1– Priority Deadline – New students

* The Housing staff will continue to accept applications and make room assignments until all spaces are filled.


TigerDen Housing Application Opens at 5 PM:

April 27 – Otis Moss Suites Lottery – Rising Juniors and Seniors ONLY

  • Current upperclassmen will be emailed a Lottery Interest Form by April 21, 2020 via email
  • Eligible students will be randomly selected and emailed prior to the opening of the application
  • Lottery winners will be able to select preferred room type and room
  • Lottery winners will be able to select preferred roommate(s) to fill up the chosen suite/apartment
  • All students must meet the criteria to be eligible to complete the housing application

May 1 – New Students (Freshmen and Transfer students) – Traditional housing (not Otis Moss Suites); Housing portal will update 3-5 business days after your Admissions acceptance fee is processed by the College.

May 4 – Rising Sophomores and rising Juniors – Traditional housing (not Otis Moss Suites)

May 8 – Priority Deadline – Upperclassmen who submit a housing application after May 8th will not be guaranteed on-campus housing. 

May 11 – Rising Seniors – REMINDER: Seniors are not required to live on campus

May 15 – Wait List (Otis Moss Suites/Robert) – Additional details will be emailed prior to the Wait List opening

June 1– Priority Deadline – New students who submit a housing application after June 1st will not be guaranteed on-campus housing. 

June 1 – Robert House Placement

  • Rising Juniors and Seniors with a 3.00 or above GPA will be eligible to apply
  • Current Robert residents will be eligible to return to your room IF you meet the application and GPA requirements
  • Current upperclassmen will be emailed a Lottery Interest Form by May 15, 2020 via email
  • Vacant rooms will be filled with Juniors and Seniors from the wait list using a lottery system

June 1 – ADA housing accommodation request priority deadline – Specific room types may not be available after this date due to them being reserved during the housing application process


Fall 2020 Move-In Dates (Subject to change based on COVID-19):

August 11, 2020 – Residential Houses OPEN from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM for New students ONLY who are paid in full

August 17, 2020 – Residential Houses OPEN at 10:00 AM-4:00 PM for returning students who are enrolled for fall 2020 and paid in full


Additional Important Dates (To Be Updated):

December 12, 2020 – Residential Houses CLOSE at 12:00 PM for Winter Break.  ALL students must officially check out by this date.  NO EXCEPTIONS

January ?, 2021 – Residential Houses OPEN at 10:00 AM for J-Mester students ONLY who are enrolled for J-Mester 2020 and paid in full.  Payment Deadline:  January 3, 2020.

January ?, 2021 – Residential Houses OPEN at 10:00 AM for returning students who are enrolled for spring 2020 and paid in full.  Payment Deadline:  January 14, 2020.

January ?, 2021  – Spring semester classes Begin

May ?, 2021 – ALL Residential Houses CLOSE at NOON.  This includes the Otis Moss Suites.  NO EXCEPTIONS.*  Residents not participating in Commencement Exercises are required to move out within 24 hours after completing your last final exam.

May ?, 2021 – ALL Residential Houses CLOSE at NOON.  This includes the Otis Moss Suites.  NO EXCEPTIONS.


 

Housing Options for Fall 2020-Spring 2021 are:

From large and traditional to small and cozy, traditional dorm to a cooperative community in the suites, Morehouse’s residence house system includes traditional residence houses, theme communities, and apartment style suites. Morehouse College does not have fraternity houses.

Residence houses at Morehouse are inclusive, supportive environments for making new friends and learning as much as you possibly can! Our buildings vary in character and vintage, but all are geared towards fostering strong communities. They house between 40 and 300 students.

Housing Options for Incoming Freshmen are:

2. Dubois House
3. Graves House
4. Hubert House
5. Living Learning Center

NOTE: New students will not be able to select housing preferences.

Housing Options for Sophomores are:

  1. Kilgore House
  2. Mays House
  3. Perdue House

Housing Options for Juniors and Seniors are:

  1. Kilgore House
  2. Mays House
  3. Otis Moss Suites - Junior and Seniors will be eligible for the East and West Suites if they have no major conduct violations.  Rooms will be selected on a first come, first serve basis.

SENIORS (4th year at Morehouse or higher) are not required to live on campus.

Core Single rooms will not be offered in any house for any classification for the 2020-2021 Academic Year. 

*For students with a documented disability or medical condition should contact the Director of Student Accessibility Services in the Student Counseling and Accessibility Services located in Brazeal Hall. Special accommodations must be approved by June 1, 2020.  Submitting a case for a single room does not guarantee placement even if you are approved. Spaces are very limited.


Housing Exemption Request

Morehouse College has a three year live on requirement that applies to ALL New Students/Transfer/Current students class of 2021 or greater. This requirement means that you are required to live on campus until your senior year at the College.

Please do not sign any leases for off campus housing until you are approved to live off campus. Pre-signing a lease will not automatically exempt you from the live on requirement.
